K to 12 field trip booking request form

Our spring 2026 school program schedule is almost full
We are fully booked until the second week of June for spring 2026, and have capacity for up to 10 days to host school groups in June. Non-intertidal program dates remaining are June 9/10, 17-19, and 22-24. Intertidal program dates remaining are June 12, 15, 16, 25, 29 and 30. Intertidal programs are limited to daytime low tide windows. Our programs are still available in the summer for youth groups. Updated 10 February 2026.
Single class bookings
You can book up to two programs on the same day including one classroom program and one non-classroom program. Classroom programs: Killer Whale Commotion, Shellfish Biology, Perils of Plastic, Amazing Adaptations, Gyotaku Fish Printing and Algal Lab. Non-classroom programs: Research Station Tour and Touch Tank and Aquaria Experience. If you book an Intertidal program, there will not be time for a second program.
Two class bookings
Both classes must book the same program, which we will run one after the other, while the other class is outside the station doing a teacher-led scavenger-hunt activity (we provide worksheets, clip boards and pencils). If you book an intertidal program there will not be time for a second program.
Full Day Secondary School Field Trips
If you wish to build a specialized day of marine science programming for your secondary school science students please email STEMantics@viu.ca. Additional charges apply.
Important Notes
- Fees are $125/hour + GST for most programs.
- School classes are limited to 30 students.
- School classes may use outdoor amphitheatre area for lunch or snack if not in use.
- Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so that your program begins on time.
